A Legacy of Faith in Action

The Guru Nanak Council of Zambia (GNCZ) manages the Lusaka Sikh Temple and serves as a local affiliate of the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (GNNSJ-UK) — a charitable Sikh organisation headquartered in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Since the establishment of the Gurdwara Sahib in the 1970s, our trustees and community members have worked tirelessly to embody Sikh values in Zambia.

Under the guidance of Professor Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh, Chairman of GNNSJ-UK, the Council continues to promote social welfare through education, healthcare, and spiritual development.

What We Stand For

The Sikh way of life rests on three pillars of faith. These timeless teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji inspire how we live, work, and serve others every day.

Affiliation
The Guru Nanak Council of Zambia is the official Zambian branch of GNNSJ-UK, a global Sikh charitable foundation.

We support education, healthcare, and spiritual development across Zambia through outreach, scholarships, and faith-driven initiatives.


Notable Projects
Our organisation recently opened Zambia’s first AI-powered cancer diagnostic clinic — expanding early detection access and saving lives.


Community Support
We regularly host free eye care camps and wellness programmes, continuing our commitment to selfless service (sewa).
